Local Authority By-laws

Public Open Spaces By-law, 2004 published by City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality in terms of Section 13(a) of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000.

  • “watercraft” includes any boat, raft, yacht, canoe, inflatable mattress, model ship or boat, radio-controlled boat or similar device;
    • Although the definition is included, it is not found in the text of the by-law. It thereby indicates a policy document may exist.

Since there are no Affiliated Model Boat Clubs in the City of Johannesburg, this by-law is not applicable to our objectives yet.
